The short version. Gainsay has no server. It collects nothing about you, sends nothing to us, and keeps everything on your phone. There is no account to create and no data for us to lose, sell or hand over, because none of it ever reaches us.
That is unusual enough to be worth explaining properly, so the rest of this page says exactly what happens to everything you put into the app.
Nothing. Gainsay contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels and no third-party software development kits that gather data. We do not know who you are, whether you opened the app today, or what you asked it. We could not tell you how many people use Gainsay beyond what Apple reports about downloads.
Everything Gainsay stores is stored on your own device:
This is the part that matters, so it is stated plainly.
Gainsay is a client for AI models you already have access to. When you send a message, the app makes a direct connection from your phone to whichever AI providers you have added a key for, and sends them the conversation so they can reply. That traffic does not pass through us. There is no Gainsay server in the middle, and there is nothing for us to log.
What is sent to those providers is the material of the conversation itself: your messages, the replies other models have already given, any documents you have attached to that seat, and any photos you have added. Depending on which keys you have added, the providers may include:
Once your conversation reaches one of those companies, their privacy policy and their data-retention rules govern it, not ours. You are using your own account with them, under whatever terms you agreed to when you created it, and the usage is billed to that account rather than through this app. If you want to know how long they keep your prompts or whether they train on them, their policies are the place to look, and they are worth looking at.
Gainsay makes no other network requests. It does not call home, check for messages, or contact any server we control, because there isn't one.
Gainsay asks for camera and photo library access only so you can attach a picture to a question. It opens either one only at the moment you tap to add a photo, and it reads nothing else in your library. A photo you attach is resized on your phone and then sent to the AI providers as part of the conversation, exactly like your text. It is not uploaded anywhere else.
Documents you import are read on your device and stored in the app's own file. Their text is sent to the AI providers only for the seats you have chosen to attach them to. Gainsay reads only the files you pick.
Gainsay does not use your location. You may see a location permission string listed by iOS because a software library the app depends on includes Apple's location framework. Gainsay never requests your location and never receives it.
Gainsay is not directed at children. It is a tool for working with AI models through developer accounts, and it displays whatever those models write. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect information at all.
If Gainsay ever changes in a way that affects any of the above, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change with it. If a future version ever collected anything, it would be said here plainly and it would be optional.
